Dear future Ale,
in 48 hours you will start making your way to Madrid for your year abroad. Right now it's so exciting and scary at the same time and I can't wait to be in this beautiful city, studying at a top world university.
Although you are leaving some challenging weights here. Parents can be so much of a hassle. Hopefully, when you will read this email everything will be better cuz right now leaving is the hardest thing ever.
I am grateful to be undertaking this experience and when I will read this email I will be a better person, mature and open-minded.
My goal is to be fluent in Spanish, to be surrounded by love, maybe to be somewhere hot with my friends, treasuring the best moment. When I will read this my year will be over and I honestly can't imagine that.
I am writing this email with so many emotions going through my head as well as hopes. I hope I will have the best year, I hope my parents work things out, I hope to have my grandma, I hope my sister will do great in her first year of high school, I hope I will be the Ale of my dream.
I hope I will be loved the way I deserve, I hope everything will come my way.
I expect this year in Madrid to be amazing, to be exciting and challenging, it will be hard for sure but it will also be fund and amazing.
Today I read that in order to become the best version of yourself you need to leave your hometown and go somewhere else, to outgrow you best self. Well, I am sad that I find so difficult to be home, especially with what it's going on with my parents. I kind of feel depressed to be honest. Well, I hope that in one year time this will change!
Well future Alessia, congrats on everything. You made it and I am proud of you and I hope you will make proud me. I hope you learned your life lessons.
Looking forward to meet you,
L'Alessia che vorrei
